This week was a busy one. My fiancé and I are launching our coffee roasting business (www.riverroastingcompany.com) and it’s been taking up a whole lot of my time. I was worried I wouldn’t get any artwork done, but I remembered that part of the reason I’m doing this is because it helps relieve stress for me. I’m trying to remind myself that it’s important to make time for myself. It is really easy to get caught up in the day to day stress and struggles. So when I sat down to do this week project, I decided to create something without doing any pre-sketching. Usually when I use watercolor, I start by doing some light sketching and looking at a bunch of reference photos. This week I took an hour out of my day, sat down and just rolled with it. It immediately felt the stress start to disappear and I think I’m going to try and do it more often.
